On March 28, 2013, Michigan&#8217;s <a href=\"\/en\/special-legal-notice-michigan-private-sector-workers\">private sector<\/a> and <a href=\"\/en\/special-legal-notice-michigan-public-workers-rights\">public sector<\/a> Right to Work laws went into effect and Michigan workers finally have Right to Work protections.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a private sector worker in Michigan and you want to know more about your rights under Michigan&#8217;s new Right to Work law, <a href=\"\/en\/special-legal-notice-michigan-private-sector-workers\">click here<\/a>.\u00a0 If you are a public sector worker, <a href=\"\/en\/special-legal-notice-michigan-public-workers-rights\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent media reports suggest that union bosses are attempting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/article\/20130311\/OPINION01\/303110302\">to skirt<\/a> Michigan&#8217;s Right to Work law <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mlive.com\/opinion\/muskegon\/index.ssf\/2013\/02\/steve_gunn_unions.html\">any way they can<\/a>.\u00a0 The <i>Wall Street Journal<\/i> <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424127887323701904578275873768466336.html\">even reported<\/a> that a Michigan teacher union boss sent out a memo stating union officials should consider suing union members who exercise their Right to Work and refrain from union membership and dues payments.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the National Right to Work Foundation has of a special task force <a href=\"\/en\/press\/2012\/12\/right-to-work-foundation-task-force-12132012\">committed to defending<\/a> Michigan workers who seek to exercise their rights under the state&#8217;s newly-enacted Right to Work law.\u00a0 If you, or someone you know, needs legal assistance, please contact the National Right to Work Foundation by calling toll free 1-800-336-3600 or by <a href=\"\/en\/legal.htm\">clicking here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In December 2012, Michigan became the nation&#8217;s 24th state to pass Right to Work protections for its workers.
