{"id":540,"date":"2009-07-01T12:15:56","date_gmt":"2009-07-01T12:15:56","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2016-08-09T18:13:31","modified_gmt":"2016-08-09T18:13:31","slug":"compulsory-unionism-bankrupting-states-workers-flee-to-right-to-work-states-for-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nrtw.org\/es\/blog\/compulsory-unionism-bankrupting-states-workers-flee-to-right-to-work-states-for-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Compulsory Unionism Bankrupting States: Workers Flee to Right to Work States for Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nAs the current economic downturn continues, many states across the nation are starting to find it increasingly difficult to stay afloat after having capitulated to the union bosses&#8217; extortionate demands.\u00a0  Last week, the <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB124597150183556945.html\"><i>Wall Street Journal<\/i><\/a> cited the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilrr.org\/\">National Institute for Labor Relations Research<\/a> (NILRR) &#8212; an anti-compulsory unionism think tank that exposes the harm forced unionism inflicts on workers &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB124597150183556945.html\">when discussing<\/a> Big Labor&#8217;s contribution toward the severe financial difficulties California, New York, and New Jersey are experiencing and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilrr.org\/node\/88\">migration<\/a> of workers leaving these forced-unionism states:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\n\t\tPowerful unions. Mr. Obama believes union power is a ticket to the middle class. The middle class is getting creamed in all three of these &quot;progressive&quot; states, where organized labor is king. The unionized share of the workforce is 20% in California, 19% in New Jersey and 27% in New York compared to 13% across the country. All three are non-right-to-work states, have super-minimum wage requirements and provide among the nation&#8217;s most generous public-employee pensions.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tWorkers in these paradises are indeed uniting &#8212; by leaving. New York ranks first, California second and New Jersey third in moving vans leaving the state.
