But Only Slashes Budget of Watchdog Agency Over Union Corruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nFor all the talk of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/omb\/fy2010_department_labor\/\">&quot;restoring labor standards,&quot;<\/a> the Obama Administration is cutting four million dollars from the Office of Labor and Management Standards&#8217; (OLMS) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/omb\/budget\/fy2010\/assets\/lab.pdf\">already small budget for 2010<\/a> (see page 13 of the budget appendix under &quot;Employment Standards Administration&quot;).\n<\/p>\n<p>\nNot coincidentally, the OLMS is the branch responsible for policing union corruption and enforcing basic transparency standards. This follows on the heels of <a href=\"\/en\/blog\/video-new-administration-02272009\">several Big Labor-friendly<\/a> <a href=\"\/en\/blog\/obama-blacklist-01302109\">executive orders<\/a> that can only be described as payback by the Obama Administration for union bosses&#8217; political support.
