Sources indicate he was a key player in Obama\u2019s early executive order aimed at blacklisting non-union contractors\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"\/en\/blog\/executive-order-yanking-employee-beck-rights-takes-effect-03312109\">keeping employees in the dark<\/a> about their right to refrain from supporting union political activities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWorse, and perhaps more tellingly, Becker wrote in a &quot;labor studies&quot; journal in 1998 that employees should not have to &quot;petition the NLRB&quot; or &quot;cast an affirmative vote simply to establish a &#8216;representative process&#8217; in the workplace&quot; (see page 15 of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilrr.org\/files\/Whats%20Democratic%20About%20Compuslory%20Unionism.pdf\">this PDF<\/a>).
