Dear Sirs:

Effective immediately, I am not a member of UFCW Local 919. If your records show me as a member, I hereby resign that membership, effective immediately.

Effective immediately, I revoke any dues checkoff authorization I may have signed to allow money to be deducted from my salary and paid to UFCW Local 919 or any of its affiliates. Now that there is no longer a collective bargaining agreement in effect between the union and my employer, federal law stipulates that any dues checkoff authorization may be revoked at any time. I am not obligated to pay anything to the union in the absence of a current collective bargaining agreement, and you must cease deducting any further union dues from my salary.

If you refuse to accept this letter as both an effective resignation and an immediately effective dues check-off revocation, I ask that you promptly inform me, in writing, of exactly what steps you claim I must take to effectuate my resignation and/or revocation of the dues check-off authorization, and promptly send me a copy of any membership or dues checkoff authorization you believe I have signed.
