Sheet Metal Workers International Association
I was a sheet metal worker for a few years two of which were union. They have a program where you go undercover and work for non-union shops and collect both pay from the non-union shop and the union. During which time you try to dig up some dirt on the company to try to put them out of business. They then threaten to sue the company and or get them closed down if they don't organize. At the time I thought oh sweet I could make real good money doing this and thought the unions were great. After time I realized how wrong they really are. They claim "an honest days work for an honest days pay." Then why should I a high school drop out make over $60/hr total including pension and benefits? Doesn't quite sound fair to me when somebody else worked hard and busted their butt to start that company or to go to school and make those kind of wages. They get you all caught up in this kind of class warfare where its look how filthy rich your boss must be. In most cases they aren't truely that rich and even if they are you have every right to work just as hard as them to become just as rich as them. This is America. You can do anything you put your mind to. I'm proud to say I'm no longer a union worker and I'm going back to school to make a real honest days pay. No longer will I have someone shoving who I have to vote for in political elections either. If you don't agree with libral politics you're doing your self a real disfavor by working for these unions who send millions of dollars of working peoples money to political fund raisers. Thats not what I thought my dues were for.
