pressure and intimidation

I understand some people say that union organizers pressure others people into joining a union or forming one. These organizers show up at people's houses? What is the matter with the citizens. Are they helpless or something? If some fascist organizers set up on my property they will have a choice - leave NOW or be riddled with bullet holes. I could make them leave me alone real quick and in a very understandable manner. Why don;t people stand up for themselves instead of letting these pathetic pests walk all over them?
