So we are lucky? HUH!
"You work for AT&T, they pay you, they provide health care at a very nice discount. They give you a matching 401k, which is something else they don't have to do. What exactly do you think you're entitled too?"
I do not think everything should be handed to everyone, but isn't that why we are in the position we are in now? Most people have been handed everything. There are people with a starting salary of 100,000 a year and some more than that. Half of those people barely do anything. They were educated though. At least some were educated anyway. Why are they entitled to make more money than someone who is just as educated but have fewer means?
We expect enough money to make it in life. What is 401 K when you are going to die from starvation? What is insurance when you can not pay the co-pay to go to the doctor? The copay to go to the emergency room is 100 dollars. What if you don't have that? Let your credit go bad so you can never even buy a car which is half your income a month? It is almost impossible. A person can not live off of 600 dollars every two weeks by themself. That is what the employees start out at.Yes, you get raises, but it tops out. It tops out at not a good rate. Teachers make a gross income of 5600 dollars a month. Do all teachers deserve their salary? I have been taught by many teachers and I can honestly say that maybe 4 were actually working and really teaching. The rest did not care what happened to me or any other student as long as they got paid. I do not care if they went to college, I went to college for 3 years, I did not graduate, but I still went to college. I do consider myself an educated person. I am at poverty level with my income. I could not imagine what a person with children and a family to support would do with my income. There are plenty of people with my income alone having to support a family. I trust they are not making it very well, even with two incomes it is almost impossible. I did not ask to be put on this earth, it was not my choice, it should not be my destiny to be without a vehicle, home, food, clothing, insurance, or medical coverage or to have to live in this crappy world. I did not choose this life and neither did the people that have worked for my wages. It is not simply that we think it should all be given to us, it is simply that we did not choose to enter this unfair world with a bunch of rich hypocrites who think we are lazy or are not as good or smart as them. You think we want something given to us? The only thing I have ever wanted is respect and enogh to survive. Nothing more, nothing less. I am not selfish, but I was put in to a cruel and selfish world. So whatever dude, just keep talking about how lucky we all are to be making 600 dollars bi-weekly. People can't even afford a camper trailer on that.
