Not only is forced unionism bad for workers' rights, it's also bad for business. As we've documented elsewhere, wasteful union work rules and extravagant, company-funded union boss salaries tend to drag down productivity and innovation. That's why it's no surprise to find Right to Work states at the top of CNBC's 2010 "Best States for Business" rankings. Seven of the top 10 and 10 of the top 15 states identified by CNBC enjoy Right to Work protections.
Of course, protecting workers' rights and combating union coercion remain the best reasons for states to adopt Right to Work laws. But the beneficial economic side-effects of Right to Work protections - particularly in the midst of an economic downturn - aren't bad inducements, either.

Right to work states.
Lets get a few things straight here. In states that are not right to work states no one is required to join a union. One is always free to work for a non-union company, if one does not want to have the benefits of higher wages, time and a half and double time for overtime, good health care coverage and a good retirement program (as I had in my career as a union ironworker for fifty years.) On the other-hand, one is always free to work for Walmart ( who recently had a million women file a class action law suit against them.)
Union ironworkers, laborers, carpenters, bricklayers, pipe-fitters, plumbers and electricians do not call southern states like Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi, right to work states. They call them right to starve states because the pay scale is so much lower and benefits are so much less.

Union fraud
I am a member of IAM and the last contract negotiation the reps concealed information about mass demotions and literally told all members they were being hired by the new contractor into their old positions. Committed actual fraud but all institutions of govt. ignore it. I was exploited on day 1 and then lost my wages to senoirity although right of first refusal is clear within the CBA. Unions are corrupt just like big govt and believe me nobody cares. If Obama admin continues the path towards all out marxism and socialism NOBODY will hold a job in America without paying a union to have that job.
RTW IS Nothing more than a scam for Big Business.
NOT ALL UNIONS ARE EVIL OR QUESTIONABLE.RTW effects every employee in this country all the way down to the farmers. RTW has proven its worth in the states it was enacted in by the stats showing higher unemployment, less jobs for people because RWT is not for the working people, "RTW is strictly for the BIG CORPORATE BUSINESSES". If I am incorrect then why do Big Corporate businesses support your so called worthiness cause.
Texas is RTW
Texas is RTW too.........THAT explains why over 50% of the new jobs created last year are HERE. AND, our unemployment rate is BELOW the national number I don't know where these facts are about "RTW states creating unemployment.
RTW
The biggest part that fails for workers on the bill is that employees lose the right to negotiate wages with the employers. Not to mention the pour safety record RTW states have as well. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but I do have to look at the whole package offered. Take what I do for example.
I am an Ironworker in the state of Missouri, which is not a RTW state. Our wages to date is $31.98 pay, with $6.36 put into welfare, $5.75 into pension, and $4.00 into annuity. Making our wages paid really at $48.09. While in Texas, which is a RTW state wages range from $17.90 to $26.65 pay [Depending on the area], with $2.60 to $2.70 put into welfare, $1.00 into pension, and $.50 into annuity. Making their wages paid at $21.60 to $30.85.
Plus, when it comes to right to work states. They are not required to train their personnel, provide safety equipment for their personnel, and are able to fire them without providing a reason why. A lot of RTW states businesses do not have to pay OT to employees as well.
RTW also have a higher rate of on the job accidents as well.
RTW states do have a lower unemployment rate, with a lot more jobs due to corporations having the right to say "This is what we are paying", "This is what you will do", and "This is how many hours you will do it for."
Fact of the matter is. All [Union & Corporate] are looking to make a buck off of us all. Union & Corporate in no more different than wondering who is more for the people? Democrats or Republicans? You really can't have one without the other. They are the yins to each other yangs. LOL......
All I want everyone to look at is the bigger picture in a respectable way to each others believe. Remember too on how life was for our grandparents was like prior to Unions forming against big businesses, and what life could be like for our kids if it was to ever be like that again.
Hope this was helpful to everyone. Take care.
Union Wages
And how much of your union dues is going to politicians that you phylosiphically disagree with and you have no say how your union spends your union dues. Think about where your money goes before you think that the union is working for you. Or are they working against you
Two things... 1) The word is
Two things...
1) The word is "affect" not "effect".
2) Va. is RTW and has one of the best employment rates in the nation as well as a low tax rate. Also, the education is clearly better than your state.
If I am incorrect then why
If I am incorrect then why do Big Corporate businesses support your so called worthiness cause.
