OOPS! SEIU Union Boss Lets Cat out of the Bag

Iowa union bosses and their patsies in the state legislature are again taking aim at Iowa's longstanding and popular Right to Work law.

Sarah Swisher, Iowa political director for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), recently told the Des Moines Register the real reason why union chiefs want to pass a repeal of Right to Work:

Unions want to be able to charge nonunion workers "reasonable" fees to help cover costs of union representation, such as when workers file grievances, Swisher said. She said the money would also be used to organize more workers, such as nurses.

"It certainly isn't for union halls or more union staff or higher wages for union staff," she said. "It's because we have a lot of workers in the state that need to be organized."

So there you go. Union bosses want more money so they can organize even more workers to get more money. While it is illegal for unions to charge nonmembers for any activity which union bosses cannot prove relates to collective bargaining -- and courts have found organizing to be unrelated -- a strong Right to Work law is the only true protection.

Of course She want you to

Of course She want you to believe that, the money goes to her! Who do you think pays her salary? union members dues!!! Sarah Swisher is terrible, of course she's going to say that their polling is PRO union, she's from a union! Don't let this bad woman cloud your judgement. Sarah Swisher talks would sell her best friend off, if it meant she got some sort of recognition. She knows nothing about politics. I agree with Mr. Kelly, big unions are bad, and Sarah Swisher is a prime example of why. She hires "friends" not well qualified individials, she runs the place like a Charity. She clearly does not understand that all that money she is wasting is from UNION MEMBERS. She frequently takes personal days, she took a vacation 2 weeks before the general election for christ's sake; so much for working hard. Oh, that was a paid vacation too, on the union member's backs of course. She is a former nurse, with no idea of how the political realm works.......not only that, but she talks badly about almost everyone who helps her at any given point, her husband is a draft dodger and frequent drug abuser, and she abuser prescription pills herself! These people get in power, without the regular person knowing anything about how bad they are for the union itself. The members don't know that she has saved up $60000 basically off of their paychecks. They don't know that she constantly forgets promises she makes and lies frequently. SEIU politics are not the politics anyone should want to be involved in. Not to mention, she has had her job for years now, and has called to bring "change" and pushed her ridiculous plans and goals into the political arena for years, and what does she have to show for it? Minimal gains in nurses wages that nurses probably don't even notice went onto their paychecks. Iowa is 52nd in nurse pay, and with a NURSE as your political director, you'd think something would get done. But nope, still 52nd......behind puerto rico and guam. nice work Swisher. Also, with a Democratic House, Democratic Senate and Democratic Governor, she STILL cannot get Fairshare passed, so it really seems like she's wrong, apparently the state IS NOT pro union, and that's just more talking point lies that she spits out. It's all she can do, is spit out talking points. There's no substance. She wants to continue to take money from hard working union members, and line her pockets. She IS one of the people she claims to defend union members from

Right to work

1963 I was working in a union shop temporarily as floor sweeper until the job for which I was hired, electrician, opened up in 3 months.
As I was 'timing out' one evening, a 'goon squad' was waiting at the time clock. The leader told me to look out the window. There was a goon with a ball bat ready to tear into my cherry 39 Chevvy if I didn't sign up for the steel workers union NOW.
We were holding up the check out line. People wanted to go home. I told the goons to kill me dead now, because if they touched my car, I knew where they lived, and I'd GIT EM!!! All the people in the line heard. There was a dis-orderly evaucation.
I pushed past the goons and went to the car. I told the goon with the ball bat "I know where you live! Git lost"!
When I got home I called the shop and explained my side of the story. They fired me over the Phone!!! The cowards!

Plus some unions have little/no detailed accountability

It's nice to see this story come out, and I sincerely hope some of the media will run with it. In addition, as we've found here in Maine, some of these so-called labor unions have little/no detailed accountability for how the fees/dues are spent...and we've been told "You just have to trust us." Sorry guys, not today! Just look at their website and you’ll see numerous political reasons why, http://www.mseaseiu.org.

The "Burden of proof" is supposed to fall on the unions to prove the "chargeable fees" are all allowed expenses, but this process should be challenged in court as the overall review process seems anything but "fair and impartial" for the challengers. The arbitration process has felt like a kangaroo court from the beginning, and this too should be reviewed before a truly fair and impartial judge/panel.

CardCheck must be defeated, as it is simply nothing short of another tool for the pro-Forced Unionism crowd. It's time for this part of the democrat's political machine to be exposed and shutdown for good.

Please contact your US Senators and Representative and ask them to help fight against the 'Employee Forced Choice Act,' and to protect our right to vote with a private ballot. Thank you!
