More left-wing apologies

E.J. Dionne in the Washington Post has a Labor Day column extolling union political power and the so-called "Free Choice Act." Of course, he does not admit that unions' anachronistic and oversized political power derives solely from outdated federal labor law (see FDR's "New Deal"), which gives unions the power to forcibly extract the dues and fees of millions of non-consenting workers. Yet, this is 2007, not 1947. Most of these workers do not even know that their money is being used/abused for left-wing political purposes. Mr. Dionne also fails to note that the so-called "Free Choice Act" would kill the secret ballot election, foist forced unionism on millions of unconsenting workers, and force employers into "arbitrations" over even basic business decisions. Imagine that, American businesses being run by a bunch of bureaucrats and "arbitrators." The bottom line is that liberals just want to sell a "bill of goods" to Americans and keep the forced dues spigot open at all costs.
